Studying abroad is an excellent way of improving your English, experiencing other cultures, challenging yourself, meeting new people and becoming more independent. Meiji Gakuin has numerous exchange programs established with foreign universities in many countries. The purpose of these programs is to let you improve yourself. Every year, students from the English Department go overseas to study, learn and discover.
The deadline for applications for studying abroad is the middle of October every year. Second year students can go for a year and graduate on time. Third year students can still apply and graduate with an extra semester of classes at most. Plan ahead so you can schedule your study abroad in the best way for yourself.
Applying is easy. Simply go to the Meiji Gakuin CICE (Center for International Cooperation in Education) website.
Or you can stop by the CICE office. All of the information and details that you need are on the site.
Each of the universities that exchanges with Meiji Gakuin has a different requirement for TOEFL, so it is good to start practicing ahead of time. If you spend time preparing for these English tests, you can get the score you want and go to your choice of school. Do not worry about it, but practice, practice, practice! Be sure to follow the application instructions and meet the deadlines, too.
Studying abroad is an exciting way to learn and an excellent way of adding value to your university life. The English Department encourages all of its students to go abroad to develop their English, learn about other cultures and have an important life experience. Studying abroad is a life-changing experience and one that you will never forget.
But, do not just listen to your teachers. Listen to the voices of your ‘senpai’ in the English Department who went abroad and loved it! These are their experiences, so please read them and think about going.
